South Llano River Park was a great stopover place for a night. Part of our journey to Big Bend took us through the Texas Hill Country. My introduction to the area had me wanting to see more in the future.
Over 800 turkeys roost at the park during the winter. I called my wife that night to tell her about the turkeys that roosted there and she assured me that there were at least 802 turkeys roosting there that night.
We found this special restaurant along the way in Menard, Texas.
Stopped briefly at Seminole Canyon State Park. Guided tours are offered to caves with ancient Indian rock art. Located just off Highway 90 between Comstock and the Pecos River.
Group campsite at Lake Amistad. It was noted that it might make a great Casita group outing campsite due to proximity to some interesting places to explore.
