There are several roads leading to Tuweep. I chose the Sunshine Route (County Road #109), the primary access route, which leaves Highway 389, 8 miles west of Fredonia, 6 miles east of Pipe Springs National Monument. The road is 61 miles long and is the most reliable route.
The road is subject to sharp rocks (flat tires), wash-boarding, and dust. You are advised that 25% of the people going there have flat tires and you should bring two spares with you.
